HEGE Waffen, founded in 1959 and originally based in Überlingen, Germany, became one of the leading European importers and distributors of Italian replica firearms. The company maintained a particularly close relationship with A. Uberti and marketed numerous revolvers, rifles, and muzzle-loading firearms under the HEGE name. Many imported firearms were inspected, modified, or finished to HEGE specifications before sale.

The interlocking Double Diamond logo identifies Euromanufacture Import & Export (EIE) of Brescia, Italy. Introduced around 1970, it replaced the earlier MOFRA markings on many firearms distributed by the Mainardi brothers. Firearms bearing this mark were exported worldwide and frequently imported into Germany by HEGE.
